I’m Ellie Balentine, a third-year architecture student with a deep appreciation for thoughtful design, craft, and community-centered work. My interest in architecture began at a young age through drawing, encouraged by my grandfather, whose creativity and attention to detail continue to influence how I approach design today. That early foundation has grown into a passion for creating spaces that are both purposeful and human-scaled.
Within my work, I value clarity, intention, and detail. Whether designing buildings, housing, furniture, or structural systems, I’m drawn to projects that balance technical rigor with experiential quality. I’m especially interested in how architecture can respond to its social and cultural context, supporting the people who use it while strengthening the communities it serves.
Looking forward, my goal as an architect is to pursue work that prioritizes affordability, accessibility, and long-term impact. I aspire to contribute to and eventually lead initiatives focused on cost-efficient housing and community-driven design, using architecture as a tool to address real-world needs without sacrificing care or quality.
